With the club floor all but packed with adoring patrons, the back rooms were a chaotic beehive of activity. The kitchen assistants were hurriedly running back and forth from their workstations to the storage rooms out back to grab more ingredients as the cooks were doing their best to sate the growing demand of the crowd. Wait staff were mixed in the chaos as they relayed orders to the back and came out with trays laden with food, all the while looking nice and cute as they did it.

“Cmon,” Leon said again and jerked his head in the direction of a door leading back behind the stage area, emblazoned with ‘staff only’ in big gold letters. Leon pressed a thumb to the biometrics and was admitted, Josselin sliding in behind him before the door closed again. Leon led the young Deputy up a half-flight of stairs up to stage height and they dodged between various items, boxes and a couple of people on their path towards the dressing rooms.

Deputy Josselin Mennari breezed into the Sergeant’s office and stood smartly before him, her heart rate elevated with anticipation. Being summoned by the Sergeant was usually trouble. She couldn’t think of anything she may have done, and that probably meant she didn’t even realise she had screwed up. Those ones were the worst. Despite it being a little invasive, she allowed herself a quick scan of his emotions. There was no trouble brewing there for her it seemed, she was probably safe.
